Help with funding
Charitable Trusts, Youth Organisations and local Business all see the value in experiences which provide opportunities for young people. Your sail training voyage, whilst being great fun, will give you opportunity to see what you are capable of and develop new social skills (working in a team, living in close quarters etc.). This aspect of sail training is valuable to employers; there are companies and individuals that are willing to support you with achieving those skills.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Organisations welcome direct approaches from young people, yes that means you! They want to know that the funding a person receives will make a difference. To help you AT SEA has created a flyer to support any application for funding that you make.
The flyer explains Sail Training, providing the reader with an understanding of what you are taking part in and adding creditability to your funding request! Within the flyer four people talk about Sail Training and why they support it.
Together with the flyer AT SEA has developed a information sheet on fundraising. This information sheet provides you with some groups and organisations that may be able to assist you with the cost of your voyage. It also gives you idea´s for your letter.
