‘Get Aboard’
A Tall Ships Sailing Adventure for You!

Qualifications: You can sign up as a trainee crew member on aTall Ship if you are 15 to 75 years young, have a spirit for adventure, love for the sea, fond of making new friendships, and keen to visit new places and different cultures.

It doesn’t matter if you have never been on a boat or a sailing ship before … most of the participating vessels welcome novices as well as experienced sailors. You can team up with professional skippers and crew to learn the secrets of coping with the elements and mastering traditional navigation.

Prices: Vessels have varying scope, standard of accommodation, public policy, event sponsorship, and therefore different pricing. Several may apply reduced prices for young people age 15-25. In addition, other special discounts, subsidies and offers are periodically published in the ‘Special Offers & Subsidies’ for the members of our ‘Join & Sail’ Club. Make sure you visit it regularly.

Prices include accommodation and full board (all meals) aboard ship.
On event voyages, trainees have also free entrance to parties, athletic, cultural, and touristic events that the destination host port may have designated for Tall Ships crews. Outfit (uniforms, t-shirts, hats, parade costumes, etc) and other paraphernalia may be offered free or at a price, depending on each ship’s policy. To learn more on the policy or information on a ship, send us an email at:

Registration Fee: A registration fee of €25 is charged to ‘Get Aboard’ once per voyage. Members of the our ‘Join & Sail’ Club  pay no registration fee for any number of voyages.

Travelling: Prices do not include transportation expenses to and from the ship (bus, train, and air tickets). Trainees need to make their own travelling arrangements.
However, for popular voyages / destinations, there can be travelling tips, group travelling arrangements, or special offers in our ‘Travelling Hints’ section.
