Garibaldi Tall Ships` Regatta 2010
There are no age restrictions for the Garibaldi Tall Ships Regatta; everybody over 15 years old is welcome to sign up.
The Garibaldi Tall Ships Regatta 2010 will mark the 150th anniversary of Giuseppe Garibaldi`s successful expedition from Genoa on the north-west coast of Italy to Sicily in the south to unify the new kingdom of Italy and the two Sicilies (Palermo and Naples). At Sea Sailtraining offers the chance to follow in the footsteps of Italy`s national hero!
Leg: Genoa (Italy)– Trapani (Sicily) Race 10-18 April 2010
Genoa (Italy) 8-11 April 2010 Genoa, birthplace of Columbus! Almost holy ground for sailors and explorers. Moreover, a very nice city to arrive a couple of days prior to the race. Enjoy the beautiful medieval downtown, get lost in romantic alleys, shop at trendy boutiques, have a drink with tapas in one of the many cosy bars and explore the sparkling nightlife; you can do it all in Genoa!
Trapani (Sicily) 16-19 April 2010 Trapani is a nice spot if you want to stay active after the race. The nearby nature parks are great for a hike, you can swim in the bay or just relax and get a great tan at the beach. The centre is full of old churches and squares where there is a regular chance for an open air concert.
