Sail Training Hellas (STH) is a Greek non-profit organization aiming to develop, support and promote sail training and traditional seamanship values for the education and benefit of young people in Greece.
Established in 2008 as National Member of Sail Training International, STH represents Greece in the International Council of that Organization.
In the cooperation with Sail Training International and National Sailing Training Organizations (NSTO’s) from 28 other countries, STH uses the worldwide events of the Tall Ships fleet to enable young people from Greece, whether they intend to follow the sea career or not, to board the ships, be part of the crew, among professional seamen and amateur sailors and experience and benefit from sail training.
In addition, STH coordinates with Greek state and private organizations for attracting Tall Ships events in Greece. The first token being the ‘Historical Seas’ Tall Ships Regatta 2010, which starts and finishes in Greek ports.
Finally, STH aims to encourage and facilitate the use of Greek flagged sailing vessels to deliver structured sail training programs for the amateur and professional alike.
